Many of you are new to our church. We are so glad you found us, and we would love to welcome you. Join us for dinner on a Friday night to meet our pastors, enjoy a meal, learn how you can get more connected to our community, and hear about our mission to be a church in and for Oakland. Dinner will be on the 3rd floor of the Wakefield building around the corner and childcare will be held at the church.

Please RSVP by Sunday, 9/14 if you need childcare, and please RSVP for this event by Wednesday, 9/17 so we know how much food to prepare.

Join us after service for a time of question and response about the Christian faith with our pastors. Text your questions about the sermon or about the Christian faith in general and stick around after either service to hear the pastors respond to your questions.

In the early 2000’s, a daughter of hippie homesteaders moved into Oakland’s Ghost Town neighborhood (one mile from ResOak, at 28th Ave. x MLK). She squatted an apartment and set herself to turning a vacant lot into a self-sustaining urban farm. Along the way she made friends and enemies among her neighbors, gained hard-earned lessons about land and livestock, and found care and community in beautiful, unexpected ways. Community Kitchens (CK) brings restaurants, community organizations and volunteers together to help feed those in need in Oakland. Founded in 2020, CK provides over 10,000 meals per month through the CK Mobile Oasis outreach bus, town fridges, and community partners. In the Oakland neighborhoods CK serves, over half the people are going to bed hungry at night. CK's mission is to build sustainable, equitable and community-centric foodways driven by the voice of the people to support the underserved in our community. Join us for an afternoon in the CK Kitchen with Chef Kendall to help with food prep, sandwich making and meal packaging. Meals prepared will be delivered in the CK Mobile Oasis outreach bus to Oakland encampments and youth programs. Space is limited. Age 10+. 

Do you ever feel like you lack purpose in your work? Do you wonder if society’s vision for work is inadequate? Do you struggle to connect your faith in Jesus with your daily responsibilities in your workplace? 

This 8-week discipleship class is designed to help you see that the gospel of Jesus Christ provides a beautiful and compelling vision and mission for your work. To be clear, this class is NOT about working for a church. It is not about evangelism in the workplace. It is about how the gospel changes everything, including how and why you work, whatever your work might be.

In this class, you will receive robust Biblical teaching from Pastor Dave, practice spiritual disciplines, complete individual and group assignments, and meet weekly with a small group. It will meet from 5-7pm on Sundays, 9/21 through 11/9.

The first session of this class is being held on the 3rd floor of the Wakefield.

Join us for a morning of food, teaching, and fellowship at ResOak.

ResOak is excited to bring back summer hikes! On the last Saturday of each month this summer, we will explore a nearby park to soak in some sunshine, fresh air, and fellowship.

This month’s trail consists of a 3 mile loop around the Lafayette Reservoir! Families, strollers, pets and friends of all ages are welcome. It is paved, shaded, and gently sloped with plenty of benches and tables. We will stop for about halfway for a break, so please bring snacks and plenty of water.
