Be a part of helping to run a first-ever carnival for kids and families at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary in West Oakland. We will have a DJ, games, food, and more!  There are lots of opportunities to get involved with carnival games, concessions and more!  

Resurrection Oakland is partnering with several organizations for this event, including Alameda County Community Food Bank, Eat Learn Play, Community Kitchens, Oakland Literacy Coalition, Chick-Fil-A Emeryville, Rico Rico Taco, Street Soccer Oakland, Paws-to-Share and MOCHA.

This marriage workshop is a great opportunity for couples who are married or considering marriage to build community and receive practical biblical teaching. How do you know if your child is ready to take communion?  Pastor Dave will help answer questions and prepare children to take communion in a fun, interactive setting.  This class will explore “What is the Gospel?” and “What is the Church and the Sacraments?”

This class is geared for children age 10 and older. A parent is required to attend the class with children under the age of 12.  Dinner will be provided. Childcare is available for siblings upon request.

Families, join us at the church to make advent wreaths together as we kick off the Advent season. What is an advent wreath?
An Advent wreath provides a way to mark the four weeks of Advent leading up to the birth of Jesus.  It is made up of four candles.  One candle is lit each Sunday in Advent, which begins on December 3rd this year.  The wreath shows the Bible's theme of light penetrating the darkness, a wonderful picture of the gospel.

Join us for a morning of beautification at Harbor House! There will be opportunities to help with painting, gardening, organizing and general cleaning from 9-11:30am. All ages are welcome. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. RSVP here for this event.

After the service projects, there will be an optional Lunch and Learn from 11:45am-1pm for those who are able to stay to enjoy lunch (Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches), a tour of Harbor House, and a conversation with some of their Youth Leaders. You can register for Lunch and Learn here.

Harbor House Ministries serves the families in Oakland's San Antonio neighborhood, offering a safe place for many immigrants and refugees. They provide food and clothing access, after-school enrichment for students of nearby Franklin Elementary, spiritual development, youth leadership and family literacy classes. Learn more here.

This event is part of Project Peace's quarterly Day of Service.  They have over 200 volunteers helping with projects on Oct 28th at 10 different organizations throughout the East Bay.  Learn more here.

Join us at Cull Canyon, a sand-bottomed swimming lagoon in Castro Valley.   We will be there from 11a-3pm, so feel free to join us for part or all of the day!  For pre-swimmers, there is a large shallow area with beach entry.  Older kids can swim to a large floating dock and jump off!  Register here.

ResKids Families, join us for a special Family Food Sort Day at the Contra Costa Food Bank’s warehouse in Concord.  We will be helping bag fresh summer produce for their community produce program.  This is a special serve opportunity to include families with children between the ages of 5-10 who are unable to volunteer at other food bank shifts.  Older siblings are welcome to join.  

Space is limited to 15 volunteers (age 5 and older).

Join us for our 2nd annual Pool Party at Springbrook Pool in Lafayette.  There is a water slide and diving board as well as a separate shallow pool for smaller children to play safely!   There is also a kids play structure, small basketball court, grass volleyball court, and ping pong!  You won't want to miss it!  This event is limited to 50 people.  Register here.

Kids can get up close to cows, pigs, chickens, bunnies, goats and more!  Make sure to bring some lettuce and celery for the animals as well as some snacks for your family! There is a fenced tot play area, playground with a famous 40 foot slide, grassy fields, a creek, basketball court, and a tunnel leading to the Berkeley Rose Garden. Plenty of fun for all ages! We will have coffee and feel free to bring your favorite snack to share.
