Rev. Dr. Irwyn Ince will present a talk about race, justice, and theology followed by an interactive conversation with the audience and a dessert reception. Dr. Ince currently serves as Coordinator of Mission to North America. He is the first Black person to serve in this role. He also serves as adjunct professor of pastoral theology at Reformed Theological Seminary. He served as Executive Director of the Institute for Cross-Cultural Mission in Grace DC in Washington, D.C. In 2018 he was unanimously elected as the first Black Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America. Please RSVP here.

In this 10-week Bible study for women using the book Ecclesiastes: Finding Meaning When Life Feels Meaningless, we will take a purpose-journey through the book of Ecclesiastes, illuminating our need for a guide and Savior. This study explores this wisdom book verse by verse to help women understand the themes of sin, vanity, enjoyment, and death, ultimately encouraging believers to follow the will of God for their lives, no matter their current circumstances.

Many of you are new to our church. We are so glad you found us, and we would love to welcome you. Stick around briefly after either of our services on Sunday to meet our pastors, enjoy coffee and bagels, learn how you can get more connected to our community, and hear about our mission to be a church in and for Oakland.

This class will prepare children to take Communion in a fun, interactive setting. We will explore “What is the Gospel?” and “What is the Church and the Sacraments?”

This class is geared for children age 8 and older. A parent is required to attend the class with children under the age of 12. Lunch will be provided. Childcare is available for siblings upon request.

Join us for an Ash Wednesday service at ResOakland as we begin the Lenten season. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, a 40 day season of preparation for Easter. The ashes of Ash Wednesday remind us that we came from the dust and will return to the dust. They also point us to Jesus, who rose from the dead to deliver us from death. Join us for a special worship service where we will sing, read Scripture, pray, hear the gospel, and receive ashes as a sign of our need for Christ’s resurrection.

Before you took your first breath, God had already set you apart. You don’t have to chase purpose—you are purposed! Join us for a powerful time of encouragement, connection, and renewal as we walk boldly in the calling God has placed on our lives. Inspired by Jeremiah 1:5, this conference is a reminder that we are known, chosen, and created for His glory in our everyday lives.

Join us at the Alameda County Community Food Bank to help sort and pack farm-fresh produce and dry goods for those in Oakland struggling with hunger.  Space is limited to 10 volunteers.  Youth (ages 10-17) are welcome to participate.  One adult is required for every five youth.  Please register here.

The Food Bank is accessible via public transportation (take BART to Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station and then take AC transit bus #98).

Community Kitchens (CK) brings restaurants, community organizations and volunteers together to help feed those in need in Oakland. Founded in 2020, CK provides over 10,000 meals per month through the CK Mobile Oasis outreach bus, town fridges, and community partners. In the Oakland neighborhoods CK serves, over half the people are going to bed hungry at night. CK's mission is to build sustainable, equitable and community-centric foodways driven by the voice of the people to support the underserved in our community. Join us for an afternoon in the CK Kitchen with Chef Kendall to help with food prep, sandwich making and meal packaging. Meals prepared will be delivered in the CK Mobile Oasis outreach bus to Oakland encampments and youth programs. Space is limited. Age 10+.

The best marriages are beautiful yet broken. In this marriage workshop, Christy Hyun MFT will use both 20+ years of clinical experience and biblical perspective born through years of ministry to teach us and help us heal and flourish in marriage. It will be very difficult to get to church during the Oakland Marathon. So, we are hosting one service and moving it to 5pm. Enjoy the morning and afternoon, maybe even run the marathon, then join us for worship in the evening!

All ResKids classes will run as usual for this evening service.

Be a part of helping to run the second annual spring carnival for kids and families at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary in West Oakland. We will have a DJ, games, food, and more! There are lots of opportunities to get involved with carnival games, concessions and more! Over 70 volunteers will be needed, stay tuned for the sign up!
