Angel Island Hike & Tour

The immigration station on Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay opened on January 21, 1910 to process immigrants arriving from Asia. Unlike its counterpart on Ellis Island, which existed to welcome European immigrants, Angel Island existed to exclude Asian immigrants. Only 20% of immigrants arriving on Ellis Island were detained, while 60% of immigrants who arrived at Angel Island were detained, often for weeks, months, or even years.

Learn more here.

Celebrate Asian American Heritage Month with us as we learn about the history of Asian immigration to the United States and think about what it means to be a church that loves immigrants. Space is limited to 30 participants.

9:00am. Meet at Golden Gate Ferry (SF Ferry Building Gate B)

10:00am. One mile hike to Angel Island Immigration Station

11:00am. Guided tour of Angel Island Immigration Station

12:00pm. Picnic Lunch

Ferry Cost (pay in person): Adults (19+) are $28 and Youth (5-18) are $14
